In late 1959, twelve people set out on a voyage halfway round the world, from England to New Zealand. It was not a sailing adventure but a commercial project. The boat was the Aberdeen Anzac, a seventy foot trawler, and the plan was to make a good profit by selling her to the Wellington Fisherman's Cooperative.
